By Patti Petrone Miller
In the tough precincts of modern New York, a detective Jack Hand is unaware that he participating in a series of brutal killings beyond ordinary understanding .
Some of the most vicious sexual assaults of women are being recorded where the femal corpses are disfigured in the most horrifying ways that even the police cannot ignore. But these killings are not just by any ordinary murderer, yes they are as perfect as Ripper, or Jack the Ripper to be precise, a menace that was thought to have been vanquished into the dust bin of history.
However, this Ripper is really not a replica of the identity of the original Ripper as it represents a deviation from them. Otherwise unimposing, he wears a black cape and is shot repeatedly in the series but he appears to be bulletproof, he is also incredibly fast and strong.
As the fears of the residents of New York grow and the death toll mounts, Detective Hand has no choice but to investigate the sacrament of the unknown, the existence of creatures of the night and the awakening of the ancient gods. As a man carry the burden of his past and a man obsessed with vengeance, Detective Hand must fight and chase his way through this thriller and full of mysteries labyrinth in order to reveal the truth behind these horrifying murders.
With each grisly discovery, he inches closer to a terrifying revelation: Yes, the aggression of the Ripper is not merely mass murder but a ritual with additional characteristics which signify that it is not simply the brutality in the killing but the symbolism that goes with the act as well which takes place beyond the grave. The distinction between the world of Dream and the realm of Nightmarish becomes increasingly inconspicuous when Detective Hand meets an important character named Dr.Evelyn Shard, the city’s coroner with a penchant for the gory details and an insight of the grotesque part of human nature. Joined together they have a challenge to prevent the killer from continuing his dreadful acts and sending the city to the eternal night that seems to be always lurking around the corner.
