Has Success Finally Found the Recipe for Murder?
When life hands you lemons, most people make lemonade. Jenny Walsh makes pie—and she’s turned it into the most successful mobile bakery Millfield has seen in decades.
But not everyone is sweet on her success.
When food critic Harold Bennett drops dead face-first in Jenny’s award-winning blackberry pie at the Summer Festival, all eyes turn to the new baker in town. With a suspicious herb found in the deadly dessert and a history of public tension with the victim, Jenny finds herself at the top of the ingredient list of murder suspects.
Now she must navigate small-town politics, old flames, and family drama while trying to clear her name. Because in Millfield, secrets are buried deeper than the berries in her pie filling—and someone is willing to kill to keep them that way.
DRIVE BY PIES combines small-town charm with delicious intrigue in this first installment of the Slice of Heaven Mystery series. With recipes included!
“As satisfying as the perfect piece of pie—with none of the calories and all of the excitement!” —Cozy Mystery Book Lover

Received a copy from a friend and I’m so glad I did! A very ‘sweet’ story that highlights the benefit of living in a small town – along with the sometimes not-so-beneficial scandals. Full of twists, love, and secrets of baking to the point you can almost taste that pie. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

The tone of Drive By Pies reminded me of Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Magnolias. It’s heartfelt, funny in all the right places, and filled with rich sensory details. I especially loved the behind-the-scenes moments of Jenny building her pie business from the ground up. The way food is used to reconnect and rebuild her life was beautiful. I’d read an entire series set in Millfield.
